Masquerade

I wrote this poem a couple of weeks ago, whenever i felt like I was being swallowed up by the crowds, and felt that I was being drowned out by any and everyone. This is it:

Masquerade

I see all others,
in their perfect masks.
Dancing all as one.

I weave my way,
through the glass smiles,
and join their never ending dance.

But I cannot stay,
for my secrets begin to show,
and my sharade begins to fade.

My mask wears thin.
My porcelain lie cracks,
and I slowly reaveal who I am.

I can no longer hold together the pieces,
and my mask fall and shatters,
revealing my true face.

Everyone turns away.
Unknowing of my real face,
and unaware of my existance.

I stand alone amongst the crowd,
screaming at the top of my lungs,
but they continue on dancing.

As I become enveloped in the sea,
overcome by the wave of lies.
I slowly fade between the Masked Ones.

Sorry for it being all depressing and everything... But it was a poem i felt like i need to publish. On a less sad matter, I found an amazing song played on the piano, called returner by gackt, it can be found on youtube, just type in "returner by gackt piano." Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Until next time,
Jess
